What we do.
Automatic Traffic Counters (ATCs)
We are able to provide accurate data for the volume of vehicles broken down by vehicle classes, vehicle journey times, average speeds and percentiles. We facilitate small and large scale projects, from country lanes to city centres. All our ATC projects are undertaken using metro count ATCs and latest software.
Parking Beats
Mercury Traffic Surveys Ltd undertake all manner of parking beat surveys to provide accurate and reliable data. We manually conduct all parking beats on site, building an accurate picture of the designated streets and car parks to showcase to our clients the capabilities and restrictions of current systems. This data can then be utilised by our clients to efficiently move forward any plans for new developments or maintenance.
Pedestrian Surveys
We provide precise assessments of complicated pedestrian movements and behaviours, including footfall studies and high density crowd studies. We can also provide PV2 analysis to help ensure potential sites are assessed for safety, fairly and consistently.
Link Count
Using high quality digital cameras we are able to perform quality assurance checks on all of our link counts meaning we can provide a minimum of 95% accurate data to our clients.
Interview Surveys
We develop bespoke interview surveys in consultation with our clients and equip our staff with the knowledge and confidence to liaise with the general public to gather requested information. This includes but is not limited to, information on origin and destination, transport methods, postcodes.
Manual Classified Turning Count
Using high quality digital cameras to record traffic movements for analysis allows us to perform quality assurance checks and ensures a minimum of 95% accuracy level for all our data collection. Filming allows us to undertake both simple, classified priority junction counts to large multi armed roundabouts and complex road network surveys.
Car Park Surveys
Our car park surveys are conducted manually for accurate results and supported by digital recordings using our high end cameras. This enables Mercury Traffic Surveys Ltd to provide good quality data every time. These surveys show the capacity patterns during peak and off peak periods.
Queue Length Data
Mercury Traffic Surveys Ltd uses strategic placement of cameras to enable us to record as well as manually count on site queue length surveys. We collate data using both fully classified vehicle queue length measurements and PCU values. Additionally, we will provide simplified signalised and non signalised and mean maximum queue length studies in accordance with DTO guidelines.
Journey Times
Mercury Traffic Surveys Ltd conduct all journey time surveys manually and supported by our vehicle GPS camera system. Summary sheets that detail each run time and the averages are provided. All journeys are recorded and can be supplied to the client.
Saturation Flow & Degree of Saturation
By providing both manual counts and strategically placed cameras to record saturation flow data, Mercury Traffic Surveys Ltd provide precise data analysis. We perform quality assurance checks on our counts to ensure we are providing clients with a minimum of 95% accurate data.
